Palace of Culture at Newlyn Gallery & The Exchange, Cornwall - an Arts Council Collection National Partners Programme online virtual exhibition

> Cock, Cat, and Head with Blue Rabbit <

I hadn’t expected that in 2021 the terrain of my work would have changed so comprehensively that I would be contributing to a virtual exhibition by way of photogrammetry, 3D spatial data processing and 3D modelling.

However, as I was told at the start of the process of creating (in the virtual world) a Cock, a Cat and a Head With Blue Rabbit - if I had a camera, an outside space where I could use it, and a computer, this was all within my ken. And so it began.

The Palace of Culture was produced by V21 Artspace, using the latest 3D modelling technologies; users can explore a set designed by artists Tony Crosby and Laura Grayson featuring 10 works of art chosen from the Arts Council Collection by children at Newlyn School.

Included are the 3D models of three sculptures from the Arts Council Collection produced using my photogrammetry.

Users can enjoy the works chosen by the pupils alongside a series of artist-led workshops found by navigation to the lower gallery.

With the lockdowns of 2020 preventing in-person exhibitions, the Palace of Culture demonstrates the adaptability and ingenuity of partners working together to create fantastic user experiences in challenging circumstances.

Newlyn Art Gallery & The Exchange is an Arts Council Collection National Partner. The Arts Council Collection is managed by Southbank Centre, London on behalf of Arts Council England.
